Chelsea striker Kai Havertz has revealed his new haircut on Instagram, and it appears to have copied his Blues team-mate Mason Mount’s most recent hairstyle change.
The German striker, 22, posed with the England midfielder, 23, and the resemblance between the two led team-mate Ben Chilwell to describe the pair as ‘twins’.
Both Mount and Havertz had previously sported longer cuts, but now that the hot summer months are upon us, they both opted for a shorter look.
Ben Chilwell mocked the couple after Kai Havertz appeared to have copied Mason Mount’s haircut.
Chelsea now look ahead to their last two games of the Premier League season, hosting Leicester on Thursday before hosting relegated Watford at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues will be looking to finish the season on a high, having won just two games of their last seven, including Saturday’s penalty shoot-out loss to Liverpool in the FA Cup final.
Havertz faces a late fitness test ahead of the match against Leicester, while Mount hopes to bounce back after missing a crucial sudden-death penalty on Saturday.
Havertz and Mount have posted a combined 26 goals and 22 assists in all competitions.
The Stamford Bridge club’s defensive weaknesses were further highlighted when Blues defender Andreas Christensen declared himself unavailable ahead of the crucial FA Cup final against Liverpool, Chelsea’s second in four months.
As a result, they have made it a priority to sign Jules Kounde, 24, from Sevilla once Todd Boehly’s £4.25bn takeover bid is accepted and UK Government sanctions are lifted.
According META.com Chelsea had reportedly reached an agreement last year to bring Kounde to the club, but the move fell through over the fee Sevilla were demanding and the late timing of the discussions.
But now that Sevilla are keen to finalize the deal and the departures of Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, the deal looks even more imperative for Chelsea’s fortunes.
