Helen Skelton has landed the job of presenting Channel 4’s Super League after her pro player husband left her heartbroken by dating the biss’ daughter.
The Countryfile presenter, 38, who was left “bewildered” by the breakdown of her marriage to rugby player Richie Myler, will front the coverage in June.
The news of Helen’s new job comes just days after it was revealed that Richie, 31, is dating Stephanie Thirlkill, 32 just a week after the split with Helen was announced.
Stephanie’s dad Andrew is estimated to be worth a staggering £175million and is one of the wealthiest businessmen in Leeds.
Richie is now reportedly jetting off on holiday with his new girlfriend to get out of the public eye.
Helen took to Instagram last week to share the news, after the pair had been together for nine years.
On her stories she told fans: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple.
“He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.”
Richie left just four months after Helen gave birth to their third child Elsie, the pair also have Louise, who is four and Six-year-old Ernie.
A source told MailOnline: “Helen is absolutely devastated. Now she is contemplating life without him while he has moved on with his new partner.
“Richie is insisting there was no crossover, that he began the romance with Stephanie after their marriage collapsed, but Helen feels let down.
“They are still married, and their baby is literally four months old. She thought their marriage was safe and secure and is totally shocked by what’s happened.”
Just days after the split was announced, Helen was absent from Countryfile, which prompted fans to show their support.
Sunday’s programme was led by Adam Henson and Anita Rani as viewers noticed Helen’s absence.
Helen’s representatives have declined to comment.
