Disgraced paedophile Adam Johnson has lived a life of luxury since leaving prison – flashing a £100k designer watch, ordering £125 bottles of vodka at nightclubs and moving into a swanky seven-bedroom mansion.
And this week, it emerged that the former Manchester City footballer is not only back with his ex Stacey Flounders, but has had a new baby boy with her.
Speaking to The Sun, a friend said: “Adam and Stacey are both thrilled to be parents again – and to have a little boy.
“This is the fresh start they wanted. They are both so happy.”
The 34-year-old, who is reportedly hoping to move abroad, truly appears to have moved on with his life since he was jailed for six years in 2016 over child sex offences.
Serving just half of the time, he moved out straight away into a new £2million home, and has been repeatedly seen out partying late into the night with glamorous girls.
‘I put her age out of my mind’
The former England winger was jailed after a court found him guilty of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, whom he also admitted to kissing and grooming during the trial.
The victim was a schoolgirl who worshipped his former club Sunderland, and she had the name and number 11 of the footballer on the back of her replica shirt.
After meeting her behind a Chinese takeaway in his Range Rover, he asked to meet her a second time.
The following January, they met again in the vehicle and Johnson kissed and performed a sex act on the girl. He was arrested in March 2015.
During the trial, grim details of Johnson’s infidelities emerged and Stacey, 31, sensationally dumped him before he was sentenced.
Judge Jonathan Rose told Johnson: “The victim was a Sunderland fan, you were her favourite player, she had a crush on you.
“That was known to you – to put it another way she had only just turned 15 when you began grooming her, because as you were to admit you found her sexually attractive.”
Following the ruling, it emerged that Johnson has also been arrested in 2015 on suspicion of possessing extreme animal pornography.
Officers also found he had visited a website called ‘Nice Young Teens’ which featured pornographic images but was not illegal. Medicine to treat STIs was found at his home.
According to the judge, Johnson told a psychiatrist: “I treated (the teenager) like any of the girls I met. I put her age out of my mind.
“I was sexually interested but she was just another girl, another opportunity. She was attractive enough. Another one to get with.”
Builds £2m ‘prison’ mansion ahead of release
Originally locked up in Armley Prison in Leeds, Johnson was later transferred to HMP Moorland, South Yorks, for his own safety after an inmate tipped him off about a plot to slit his throat with a makeshift knife.
After making the move, the former footballer was forced to sell the home he shared with Stacey for a knockdown price.
The five-bed house was originally put on the market for £1.85million, but after he lowered the asking price it was snapped up by England cricketer Ben Stokes.
However, ahead of his early release from jail, the millionaire set his sights on a new £2million mansion.
The house in Co Durham has a bowling alley, a swimming pool and football nets in the back garden.
Built while he was in jail, the property was looked after by his sister, Faye, but attracted criticism for looking similar to the prison he was staying in.
In March 2019, the pervert was seen being driven out of prison by his dad in a blacked-out car in the middle of the night.
The car was later seen pulling into his home after Johnson was released in the early hours of the morning.
Flaunted £100k watch and orders £125 vodkas on boozy nights out
Far from keeping a low profile, Johnson was seen swaggering out and about just days after leaving prison.
While hopes of rekindling his football career were quickly dashed, the former star still appeared to be enjoying the sport’s trademark bling.
The Mirror pictured him enjoying a dog walk with Faye while wearing a luxury Richard Mille timepiece – worth an eye-watering £100,000.
Even the Fresh Ego Kid tracksuit bottoms he pulled on for a stroll through the fields were worth £100.
A source said: “To look at Johnson now, you’d never know he’d been inside. His victim’s family will be horrified to see him flaunting his wealth like this.”
Three months after his release, the shamed paedo was seen stumbling out of a pub after reportedly ordering £125 bottles of vodka while chatting to an 18-year-old girl.
According to The Sun, Johnson appeared so drunk he could hardly walk as he left the popular bar at about 1.20am.
After twisting his ankle, he had to be helped to a £75,000 Mercedes 4×4 before being driven away.
The following month, the criminal was spotted on a night out partying with pals, wearing a T-shirt that appeared to read ‘Fresh Kid’ – thought the faded words were actually ‘Fresh Ego Kid’.
He was seen chatting with a blonde, emerging from a club and hanging out on a pavement in Middlesbrough next to a rubbish bin.
Ex ‘couldn’t be happier’ after welcoming perv back
During his court case, Stacey dramatically dumped Johnson, claiming he was “an arrogant man who lied and lied to me”.
She was pregnant with the couple’s first child when he began communicating with the underage girl.
After learning about the scale of his infidelity during the court case, Stacey announced: “I’m not standing by you any more. I’m moving out.”
However, the ex-England international is believed to have won her back over lockdown and it emerged over the weekend that they were expecting a child.
Johnson is now considering moving abroad with his family, according to The Sun.
A friend of Stacey’s told the newspaper she was pregnant and back together with him, saying: “She knew he made mistakes and was furious with him for all of his cheating.”
However, she did not hate him, the friend said, and they have been spending more time together looking after their daughter.
Stacey sees Johnson as a “brilliant dad” – but warned he would get no second chances.
The friend said: “This is a new chapter in their lives and Stacey couldn’t be happier.”
