A STUDIO flat on the outskirts of Sheffield is up available to rent for £600 a month.
And while it boasts a decent-sized kitchen-diner and separate bathroom, the sleeping situation is a nightmare.
The frame sits directly above the hob and kitchen cabinets – and can only be reached by climbing a narrow flight of stairs.
And the bed itself – apparently a double “perfect for couples” – looks absolutely tiny.
Once tucked in, it appears it would be near impossible to sit upright without risking bashing your head on the ceiling.
And it is so high up from the floor, the new tenant will likely have to slide under the covers sideways.
There is, however, a handrail along the side of the mattress to ensure anyone in a deep slumber doesn’t fall out onto the countertops.
The “quality” apartment, in the heart of Broomhill near Crookes Valley Park, is available to rent for £625 a month – or £144.23 per week.
It is advertised as a “perfect for both an individual or a couple” and features a “modern” kitchen, integrated washer-dryer, and an en suite bathroom.
Other bonuses include a mini dishwasher, “plenty of cupboard space”, a fireplace and being surrounded by “vibrant” pubs and restaurants.
And the monthly cost includes water and council tax.
But the OpenRent listing does warn that it comes with a “mezzanine bed”.
