TYSON FURY is already back sparring in the gym – less than two weeks after seemingly announcing his retirement from boxing.
The Wythenshawe warrior appeared to bring the curtain down on his career moments after his spectacular KO victory over Dillian Whyte at Wembley.
But a mere nine days after appearing to walk away from the sport, The Gypsy King got some sparring in against some young amateurs at his old gym.
Fury, 33, made a surprise visit to Jimmy Egan’s Boxing Academy in Wythenshawe and got in the ring with some aspiring boxers.
The 6ft 9in giant walked the youngsters down as they unloaded body shots and tried to navigate their way around his hulking frame.
Boxing fans were quick to comment on Fury’s act of kindness, with one saying: ” Well done @Tyson_Fury.
“They will remember that for the rest of their lives.”
Another said: “What a great day for those kids. They can tell everyone they spent time beating up on Fury.”
And another said: “You have got to admire this man. He remains grounded despite all his success and wealth, people’s champion bar non
One remarked: “Nothing but a top-class professional and top-class legend.”
Another chimed in: “What a legend @Tyson_Fury is. Multi gazillions gives his time up for the future.”
Fury has yet to officially announce his retirement or vacate the WBC heavyweight title, which he’s made two defences of.
But the prospect of an undisputed heavyweight title fight with the winner of Anthony Joshua’s high-stakes rematch with unified king Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t excite the Brit.
He told talkSPORT: “I’ve already been the undisputed champion. I’ve won every single belt there is to win.
“I’ve got nothing more to do, I am out, fully retired. Done.
“[Fighting Usyk] is never gonna [sic] happen because I’m retired, but let’s just say I’d punch him round the ring.
“Because he’s a middleweight, blown up.
“I am retired so what I wanna do is chill out with my family and enjoy the rest of my life. Who knows what the future holds?
“But as of yet, I’m just enjoying myself and I’m gonna grow my hair back I think!
“I’ve got school runs with the kids, I’ve got my bin trips to the tip, washing cars down, haircuts, shaves, hoovering, cleaning up.
“The normal day-to-day stuff at home with the kids, family and wife. Weekends, I look forward to my weekends, I train all week.
“That’s it really, just enjoy life one day at a time.”
