The Amazon Web Services vision statement It’s more than a job, it’s AWS pretty much says it all; we aren’t just another great company to work for we are the company to work for in the technology industry. It would be fair to say that working at AWS has become something of an aspiration in the software development industry, which speaks volumes about the cutting-edge products we build and the values that drive us as a company. So what exactly makes AWS such an attractive place to work? What do we have that others don’t?
The Company Behind AWS
We founded Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2002 with a vision to transform how business is built on web services. Since then, AWS has become one of Amazon’s fastest growing businesses and one of our most important long-term bets. We’re recognized as an industry leader by virtue of our ability to build great services that have customers lined up around the block for them. AWS is not only leading today; we are laying out tomorrow’s technology so that others can follow us there too. Our core infrastructure services like compute, storage, database, analytics and application services all help companies deliver applications quicker while spending less. AWS enables you to focus your efforts on building your business rather than managing it. Customers simply choose what they want from a catalog of over 70 types of cloud computing environments available via APIs or from one of our preconfigured solutions such as AWS Elastic Beanstalk or AWS CloudFormation. We then provide secure access and manage features like scalability and high availability so you can focus on running your organization without worrying about IT operations.

This document provides guidelines for writing technical documentation for WordPress plug-ins, themes and core code. As we are trying to scale and make it easier for nontechnical users to report bugs or ask support questions about plugins (see Make WordPress Support Great Again), it is important that technical topics in documentation be written clearly so that everybody is able get involved regardless of how technically savvy they are.
Community Involvement
If you don’t feel like a part of something bigger than yourself, it’s easy to lose sight of why you came to work every day. That’s why our employees are encouraged to volunteer in their communities. As one team member put it: We do things as a company so that we can have more to give back individually. We’re not just making a product for users; we’re trying to make people better through what we make. The ripple effect goes far beyond any specific AWS service. And I truly believe that when your product helps people be healthier or happier, you want to know who is benefiting from it you want to see it with your own eyes, and you get inspired by being able to meet them face-to-face. Once you’ve been touched by these experiences firsthand, they become even more meaningful. AWS has also gone beyond corporate donations and sponsored events by creating an employee giving circle made up of fellow professionals across different teams who come together around a cause they support.
The Future of AWS
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re looking for strong leaders to help create a future that is more connected and distributed than ever before. AWS connects customers with each other and every kind of service over its highly scalable, reliable and secure infrastructure.
